Getting to know each other (without a blind date)

1. Introductions with HR

We find out whether the chemistry is right in a relaxed remote conversation with the People management and a Flipster from your department.

2. Talking shop

On a call with the department you’ve applied to, you will show us what you can do. You might even be given a small task to prepare in advance.

3. Visit us at the office

You will come to our office, where you will meet Flipsters from your team and get a taste of what your working day will look like. Devs: You will do some pair programming.

4. Meet one of the founders

You will meet Bene or Giaco in Stuttgart or on a video call for a first-hand experience of the Flip spirit

Answering your questions

What should I wear for the chats?

It’s common for Flipsters to wear jeans, jumpers and T-shirts, but that doesn’t mean that you should too – just wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Fun fact: Our Flip hoodies have been mistaken for a new fashion brand. No wonder so many Flipsters wear them a lot.

How many days of holiday do you offer?

As standard, we offer 30 days holiday for a 40-hour working week. If you work a different number of hours each week, the number of holiday days will be adjusted proportionately.

How flexible are the working hours?

At Flip we have a policy of trust-based working hours, so there are no core working hours. This means that it’s fine to have a longer lunch break or to start your weekend earlier, as long as you get your work done and work your required hours. The main thing is transparency: Your team should know when you will be available and where. We trust Flipsters to organise themselves well and, for example, to be considerate of colleagues who have children. In our experience, it works very well indeed.

What rules do you have when it comes to working remotely or in the office?

You can decide for yourself whether you want to work from home or in the office. We only ask that you’re willing to come to our head office in Stuttgart for certain events. For us, it’s important that everyone feels part of their teams because many people simply work better when around others.

Can I work from abroad?

Yes, this is possible, provided that it’s legally permitted. For example, you can extend your holiday by a one-week ‘workation’, provided that you give plenty of notice as this will ensure that we can meet our reporting deadlines. If there is a significant time difference, then it will depend on whether you will also be able to complete your work in the time zone in question.

Will I have a fixed workspace in the office?

You will have something even better: Every day, you will have the workspace that is best suited to your tasks. Our office is divided into different zones, including a quiet Focus Area and a Brainstorm Corner for collaboration. We have a dedicated tool that lets you book a space where you can work most effectively. We also have ‘quiet boxes’ in case you need to concentrate on a call.

What equipment will I receive for the office and for working from home?

As a Flipster, you decide whether you want to use a Windows laptop or a MacBook. If required, you also get a 27-inch monitor, a wireless headset, a docking station, a webcam and a mouse and keyboard.
